NRC is necessarily Required for West Bengal.

 NRC is an process to prepare a National Register of Citizens of India.

This NRC process will help to find out about illegal immigrants in the country.Once NRC is conducted in a state, all the illegal immigrants present in that state can be identified and deported back to their countries.

Statistics show that illegal Immigrants from Bangladesh are causing a 25% increase in the crime rate in West Bengal.Therefore NRC is required for West Bengal.

Take a look on statistics:

Top 4 states with foreign convicts are WB,UP,Delhi and MH.

As per the date of 31st Dec 2016 there were a total of 2366 foreign convicts in India and out of these 1599 were in prisons of west bengal.

Of these all 2366 foreign convicts in whole of India 1792 were from bangladesh.

Now in WB out of total 1599 foreign convicts, 1590 were bangladeshi.

So you can see that almost 75%(1792/2366) of the foreign convicts in India are from bangladesh and 88%(1590/1792) of them are in prisons in West Bengal.

Total convicts in jails in following states are:

6445 in West Bengal

8661 in MH

26785 in UP

3034 in Delhi

And foreign convicts form:

24.1% of all convicts in WB(1599/6445)

0.6% of all convicts in UP(161/26785)

0.9% of all convicts in MH(81/8661)

2.7% of all convicts in Delhi(82/3034)

Now anyone who is aware about the porosity of the bangladesh border can understand that it is the reason behind these statistics.

So keeping aside political opinions;statistics demand an NRC exercise to be conducted in WB to deport illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and reduce crime in the state.
